24 The Conditions of Discipleship. Jesus then said to his disciples, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.[a] 26 What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
